      Bio
Katy Halford was born in a small village in Leicestershire, England, as has always loved to draw. She has a degree from Loughborough University in the UK.

Katy Halford: I was born in a small village in Leicestershire on a snowy winters morning in the year of '85. Ever since I have known, I have always loved to draw. I was told that from a young age, I used to always put eyelashes on the characters I drew. This became one of my distinct quirks and has stuck with me ever since! As a child, I used to create paper houses and shops and I would play for hours in these imaginary worlds, creating little stories and acting them out. I would say this is where my love for illustration started, and from then I continued to study the 'arts' at school and went on to graduate at Loughborough University with a degree in Illustration. I work from home, in a lovely house with a beautiful spacious garden. The garden is full of greenery and flowers and the birds are always singing. We have two bunny rabbits named Hubert and Esme, they are quite some characters! I am fascinated with people and animals and turning them into characters... I love to add patterns and details to clothing, add fun hairstyles, hats, glasses and lots of other accessories! Everything always starts off as a sketch and then I scan in the sketches and painted textures and work in Photoshop to add colour to my illustrations.

      Description

[A] moving, funny, hauntingly brilliant memoir about marriage.”—Caroline Leavitt,The San Francisco Chronicle

Rick Moody, the award-winning author ofThe Ice Storm, shares the harrowing true story of the first year of his second marriage in this eventful, month-by-month account

At this story’s start, Moody, a recovering alcoholic and sexual compulsive with a history of depression, is also the divorced father of a beloved little girl and a man in love; his answer to the question “Would you like to be in a committed relationship?” is, fully and for the first time in his life, “Yes.”

And so his second marriage begins as he emerges, humbly and with tender hopes, from the wreckage of his past, only to be battered by a stormy sea of external troubles—miscarriages, the deaths of friends, and robberies, just for starters. As Moody has put it, "this is a story in which a lot of bad luck is the daily fare of the protagonists, but in which they are also in love.” To Moody’s astonishment, matrimony turns out to be the site of strength in hard times, a vessel infinitely tougher and more durable than any boat these two participants would have traveled by alone. Love buoys the couple, lifting them above their hardships, and the reader is buoyed along with them.

"City of Windows is moving, breathtaking—a great entertainment." —The Wall Street Journal

“A tough, wise, knowing narrative voice, a great plot, a great setting, and even better characters — I loved this.” —Lee Child,New York Times bestselling author

In the tradition of Jeffery Deaver’s Lincoln Rhyme and David Baldacci’s Amos Decker, Robert Pobi'sCity of Windows introduces Lucas Page, a brilliant, reluctant investigator, matching wits with a skilled, invisible killer

During the worst blizzard in memory, an FBI agent in a moving SUV in New York City is killed by a nearly impossible sniper shot. Unable to pinpoint where the shot came from, as the storm rapidly wipes out evidence, the agent-in-charge Brett Kehoe turns to the one man who might be able to help them—former FBI agent Lucas Page.

Page, a university professor and bestselling author, left the FBI years ago after a tragic event robbed him of a leg, an arm, an eye, and the willingness to continue. But he has an amazing ability to read a crime scene, figure out angles and trajectories in his head, and he might be the only one to be able to find the sniper’s nest. With a new wife and family, Lucas Page has no interest in helping the FBI—except for the fact that the victim was his former partner.

Agreeing to help for his partner’s sake, Page finds himself hunting a killer with an unknown agenda and amazing sniper skills in the worst of conditions. And his partner’s murder is only the first in a series of meticulously planned murders carried out with all-but-impossible sniper shots. The only thing connecting the deaths is that the victims are all with law enforcement—that is until Page’s own family becomes a target.

To identify and hunt down this ruthless, seemingly unstoppable killer, Page must discover what hidden past connects the victims before he himself loses all that is dear to him.
