“When in doubt, a coffee table book is always a fun gift, and any dog lover will appreciate Good Dog: A Collection of Portraits. This beautiful book is filled with 150 dog portraits taken by photographer Randal Ford, and it features pooches of all ages and breeds. The photograph-filled book is incredibly fun to flip through, and we think it would make a perfect addition to any dog enthusiast’s home.”
      —USA Today

“Photographer Randal Ford has done it again. Good Dog: A Collection of Portraits is a humorous, silly, and heartwarming compendium of snapshots of man’s best friend. Ford, one of the most prolific animal photographers out there and highly admired for his stunning book Animal Kingdom—which features animal portraits taken in-studio—is back with a book worthy of much love. With 150 dog portraits spanning all breeds…there is no end to the joy emanating from these pages. An engaging foreword by W. Bruce Cameron, a much-loved newspaper columnist and New York Times best-selling author of the A Dog’s Purpose series, offers an unyielding stamp of approval. As he says ‘What Randal Ford can do with his lens is let dogs communicate their stories of love and loyalty, of dedication and devotion. If there is a creature more joyous than a dog, I don’t know what it is. And in this miracle of a book, all the mischief and happiness and love and fun come through the dogs’ eyes and straight as us.’ We’d have to agree. The joy a furry companion infuses into any life is unarguable, but with Good Dog, Ford has offered a new way to enjoy the comfort dogs bring. The book also serves as a fantastic stocking stuffer or holiday gift for new, constant, and soon-to-be ‘pawrents.’”
      — Downtown Magazine NYC

"There's nothing standard about these poodles. Local photographer Randal Ford just released his second Rizzoli book, Good Dog, a stunning collection of portraits of man's best friend. Flip the pages for studio shots of four-legged character studies like bearded Ceelo, pictured above, Enzo—a rare black-splotched Golden—and adorable bi-color eyed Buckley. Photos are accompanied by Randal's beautiful prose about what made each canine captivating from behind the lens. Who's a good cover boy?" — DALLAS TIDBITS

"Best Gifts for Dog Lovers... Photographer Randal Ford's collection of portraits features sweet furry faces of all breeds and is the perfect addition to any dog fan's coffee table." — Country Living

"The Best Coffee-Table Books of 2020. Think your pup is practically human? These striking portraits of 150 soulful, expressive canines prove you might just might be onto something."
      —People Magazine

"Design Goes to the Dogs—in the Best Possible Way! Ford’s lovely images in this Rizzoli volume have a classical simplicity to them, all the dogs posed like supermodels, some with wind in their fur, against plain backgrounds. Ford is a kind of Richard Avedon of dog art, in most cases avoiding the arty whimsy of William Wegman in favor of a more noble take that looks into the subject’s eyes for understanding; it wouldn’t be surprising if the dogs themselves had commissioned these flattering portraits."

      Description
For all lovers of dogs and adventure, come experience Kelly and Loki the Wolfdog’s world together, as they explore the country and inspire those around them, revealing the endless possibilities between a man and his four-legged companion.

During a blizzard in 2012, Kelly brought Loki—a husky/arctic wolf/malamute mix—home. Growing up in a family that took dog ownership very seriously, Kelly had his fair share of experiences with large dogs. But Loki was different. Instead of the dog entering into Kelly’s world, Kelly felt that he had to listen closely to Loki and enter into his world. At that time, Kelly decided that he would do everything possible to not leave him behind at the house. They started backcountry snowboarding together when Loki was four months old, and before his third birthday, he’d seen most of the western United States.

Loki the Wolfdog has developed a massive following across social media. With 1.5 million followers on Instagram and 140,000 likes on Facebook, people have grown to love following Kelly and Loki’s adventures. Starting out just for fun, Kelly started an Instagram account for Loki documenting their escapades. The story was later picked up by numerous websites, giving them unexpected exposure. Realizing that they now have a voice in the social media community, they want to give back and inspire others to get out, explore the world, and make memories with their pups.

Loki the Wolfdog has a massive following, because people have enjoyed watching Kelly and Loki’s undeniable bond. The story is both philosophical and visual: an invitation to experience life through Kelly and Loki’s eyes.

    Impressionist Cats Susan Herbert
    9780500295571 Paperback HUMOR / General On Sale Date:June 02, 2020

      Description
This irresistible volume features illustrations of Impressionist masterpieces—with a feline twist.

Cats playing a quiet game of cards, cats at the ballet, cats having a leisurely lunch on the grass, cats boating on the river…These are the quintessential Impressionist cats, painted with vivid, joyous colors in their favorite haunts, at their ease in various ordinary activities.

With their pensive, brooding expressions, cats lend themselves perfectly to reimagining the great works of the Impressionist masters, whether strolling among Claude Monet’s wild poppies, sitting in Mary Cassatt’s loge at the opera, or even enjoying a Sunday dance at Auguste Renoir’s Bougival. They can be charming or steeped in mute despair, vulgar or lovingly maternal, bourgeois or intellectual—but they are always Impressionist cats, caught as if by the camera, spontaneous and unprepared. A wonderful addition to the Cats in Art series, Impressionist Cats is sure to charm any cat lover.

The connection between women and cats is timeless—explore how this truth endures in the 21st century through Leah Goren’s enchanting artwork, along with contributions by more than 25 women.

There’s no question that cats rule the world—ask any cat owner and they’ll tell you how these balls of fur insert themselves into our lives and establish dominion over the household. In this book, Leah Goren brings together smart, funny essays by ban.do founder Jen Gotch, writer Mara Altman, novelist Emma Straub, and designer Justina Blakeney, among others. She also conducts illuminating interviews with women who have built their lives or careers around cats, such as Lisa Kytösaho, the head of a cheetah rehabilitation and conservation organization in South Africa, and Hannah Shaw, a humane educator and rescuer of neonatal kittens. Throughout the book, Goren’s appealing illustrations bring the joys of cat friendship to life, while her observations about the roles that cats have played in history, fashion, mythology, and art help us understand why the human-cat connection is so powerful. Sophisticated yet accessible, and featuring the work of a hugely popular illustrator, this book’s wisdom and artwork reveal deeper truths about what makes cats so appealing as companions. In this charmingly illustrated collection of pet-related stories children will find out about some of history’s most important scientists, artists, writers, and musicians and their beloved animals.

Did you know that Mozart’s pet starling was the inspiration for his Piano Concerto No. 17? Or that writer Dorothy Parker loved animals so much she let a pair of alligators swim in her bathtub? These are just a couple of the stories in this delightful and surprising collection that profiles the strong bond between humans and their pets. Some of these stories are touching: Frida Kahlo memorialized her pet deer Granizo in her painting The Wounded Deer. Some are a little quirky: Albert Einstein, convinced that his parrot, Bibo, was sad, told bad jokes to cheer the bird up. Each of these wonderfully entertaining stories is made even more appealing by Katherine Quinn’s captivating illustrations. Rich in detail and reminiscent of folk art, they capture the humor and poignancy of these fascinating pairings. Together these stories and illustrations will create lasting impressions that will help young readers identify historic figures and spark joy in friendships with the animals in their own lives.
