In this standalone fantasy novel by an award-winning author, the dark truth behind a string of unusual murders leads to an otherworldly exploration of demigods, myth, and memory, steeped in Caribbean storytelling.

The serial killer that terrorised the City is finally behind bars, but Miranda, the forensic psychiatrist assigned to the case, still has work to do. Snatched from the brink of death by chance, she meets the otherworldly brothers Ajit and Yao, and the three begin an unusual investigation into seven unusual murders. Winding paths and unravelling clues lead them to ever more difficult questions. What is living, what is dying, what does it mean to be immortal? And who is the man who would kill to live forever?

Praise for Karen Lord

“Lord’s first novel is a clever, exuberant mix of Caribbean and Senegalese influences…Throughout, Lord manages to compress her story while balancing the cosmic and the personal—all with a verve that would be the envy of many veteran novelists.”—New York Times Book Review

“This is one of those literary works of which it can be said that not a word should be changed.”—Booklist (starred review)

“Filled with witty asides, trickster spiders, poets, and one very wise woman, Redemption in Indigo is a rare find that you could hand to your child, your mother or your best friend.”—The Washington Post
