The littlest readers can learn about Abraham Lincoln in this board book version of the New York Times bestselling Ordinary People Change the World biography.

This friendly, fun biography series focuses on the traits that made our heroes great—the traits that kids can aspire to in order to live heroically themselves. In this new board book format, the very youngest readers can learn about one of America’s icons in the series’s signature lively, conversational style. The short text focuses on drawing inspiration from these iconic heroes, and includes an interactive element and factual tidbits that young kids will be able to connect with. This volume tells the story of Abraham Lincoln, America’s sixteenth president.

Worthy mission: Brad Meltzer devised this series as a way to give today’s kids the right role models and to encourage them to live heroically. “Kids always search for heroes, so we might as well have a say in it.”

Expanding the series: The Ordinary People Change the World books are already a New York Times bestselling series, and now kids will be able to connect with it at an even younger age. The short, inspiring text encourages the young readers while teaching them some basic facts about the heroes’ lives.

Interactive element: Each of the board books includes an interactive element designed for the youngest readers. This one features a count-the-animals activity.

One of our most popular heroes: Abraham Lincoln was one of the first two heroes in the series, and his book has consistently been a favorite. His story of speaking up for fairness will inspire young readers to fight for what’s right.

Brad Meltzer is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Escape Artist and a number of other suspense novels. He is also the host of the History Channel television shows Brad Meltzer’s Decoded and Brad Meltzer’s Lost History (in which he helped find the missing 9/11 flag). He lives in Florida with his wife and their three children.
