"Where in this racket can Nanny be?

When you get invited to a kitchen party at your grandmother’s house, there may be certain things you don’t expect to find: like moose and foxes and bears! In this exciting, playful romp through a Newfoundland kitchen party, there are an increasing number of animal party crashers…and one fun-loving Nanny smack dab in the middle of it all."

Rebecca North is the author of A Picnic at the Lighthouse and Elliot and the Impossible Fish, finalist for the Bruneau Family Children’s/YA Award Rebecca grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and now lives in Kingston, Ontario. She is the mother of two young children and spends many hours reading and re-reading picture books.

Laurel Keating is a self-taught and award-winning artist whose illustration work has appeared in several children's books: Yaffle's Journey, Elliot and the Impossible Fish, Moose's Roof, and Full Speed Ahead: Errol’s Bell Island Adventure, to name a few.  A native Newfoundlander and animal lover, she lives in Portugal Cove, which she has called home all her life.

"Such a fun, silly read! Upon arriving at her grandmother's for a kitchen party a girl discovers party crashing animals all over the house but her Nanny is nowhere to be found. With rhythmic narration, cute illustrations, and lots of animal friends it's a kitchen party like no other! My kids and I really enjoyed this one!" - Bookalong
