FICTION / Romance / Romantic Comedy
A charming, hilarious, sweet-as-candy romp of a debut novel that brings together nine unrelated women, each touched by the same little black dress that weaves through their lives, bringing a little magic with it.

Natalie is a Bloomingdale's sales girl mooning over her lawyer ex-boyfriend who's engaged to someone else after just two months. Felicia has been quietly in love with her happily married boss for twenty years; now that he's a lonely widower, she just needs the right situation to make him see her as more than the best executive assistant in midtown Manhattan. Andrea is a private detective specializing in gathering evidence on cheating husbands--a skill she unfortunately learned from her own life--and she can't figure out why her intuition tells her the guy she's tailing is one of the good ones when she hasn't trusted a man in years.
For these three women, as well as half a dozen others in sparkling supporting roles--including a young model fresh from rural Georgia; a diva Hollywood star making her Broadway debut; and an over-achieving, unemployed Brown grad who starts faking a fabulous life on social media--everything is about to change, thanks to the dress of the season, the perfect little black number everyone wants to get their hands on. . . .

Jane L. Rosen is an author and Huffington Post contributor. She lives in New York City and Fire Island with her husband and three daughters. She often takes inspiration from the city she lives in and the people she shares it with. She is the author of a young adult novel, The Thread, which she self-published. In addition to writing she has spent time in film, television, and event production and is the cofounder of It’s All Gravy, a web and app-based gifting company.

"Rosen's engaging style—chick lit with an edge—revels in a world both romantic and caustic, as if Jane Austen had been teleported from an English drawing room to the change rooms in Bloomingdale's." —Toronto Star

"First class chick lit. . . . A sweet, simple, satisfying, and cheeky summer read. You'll want to dig your little black number out of the closet and play along." —The Huffington Post

"A charming lark of a novel. . . . Nine Women is a throwback that evokes the fluffy romantic comedies of the Rock Hudson-Doris Day era. . . . Rosen is a witty writer." —USA Today

"Your next fave summer read. . . . We're predicting Nine Women, One Dress will be finding its way into many a beach bag. . . . [A] fun, frothy . . . read." —Elle Canada

"Nine Women, One Dress tells the chic story of the season's It Dress. The LBD makes the rounds in New York City, from its debut on the runway to a hanger in Bloomingdale's, from a red carpet movie premiere to a hospital room and everywhere in between. The black frock—and its temporary owners—are part of a stylish tale of short stories all woven together." —OK! Magazine

"In her warm and witty debut novel, Jane L. Rosen writes a love letter to New York City and the tapestry of women who come here with high hopes and big dreams. A little black dress hasn't gotten this much attention since Breakfast at Tiffany's. Whether you're in a stylish sheath or your flannel pajamas, this book will make you feel like a million bucks." —Katie Couric

"Sweet, delicious, the perfect summer read about the perfect black dress." —Lucy Sykes and Jo Piazza, authors of The Knockoff

"Chick lit at its best. If this charming debut were a dress, it would fit everyone perfectly and flatter everyone's figure." —Library Journal, starred review

"A charming story that twists the lives of New Yorkers around a little black dress. Or is it the other way around? . . . Rosen's debut novel is rich in relationships, written with clarity and humor and surprise twists that bring the tale to a satisfying conclusion. A pure pleasure to read." —Kirkus Reviews

"Jane L. Rosen's nicely woven tale . . . is a story for dreamers, the hopelessly-in-love and anyone, woman or man, in search of a new lease on life." —New York Daily News
