Most visitors to Algonquin Provincial Park experience its beauty during the summer months. This book shows readers the diversity of wildlife and striking landscapes that appear throughout fall, winter, and spring. Images and text together create a compellingly beautiful portrait of Algonquin Park, capturing the wildlife, forests, lakes, plants, flowers, and even mushrooms that illustrate the incredible diversity of the park through all seasons.

Talented painters, illustrators, and photographers Jan and Martin Rinik have spent years creating the rich range of visuals contained in this book. More than 200 colour illustrations grace these pages, along with 125 photographs of the park in all four seasons. With training as a biologist, Martin Rinik contributes authoritative information on the many species found in the park. The result is a stunning and informative portrait one of the most diverse natural habitats in the world.

JAN RINIK is a wildlife artist, nature photographer, and ornithologist. MARTIN RINIK is a biologist, ornithologist, nature photographer, and wildlife artist. "What's truly extraordinary is the artful combination of original paintings and illustrations with crisp photographs ? with a moody blend of line and colour that evoke Algonquin itself... I was left wanting to grab my paddle, load up my canoe, and get back in there!" - Monte Hummel O.C., President Emeritus, WWF-Canada

"Reading Algonquin Park: A Portrait has rekindled my interest in this magnificent tract of land." - John E. Black, Past President, Ontario Field Naturalists

"The rich illustrations and vivid photography capture the beauty and wonder of nature throughout the seasons. Altogether, a work worthy of this special place." - George Finney, President, Bird Studies Canada
